Thursday Night Flight Club - BONUS WEEK #4: MACK'S BDAY ADVENTURE!
Start 08/14/2025 at 00:15
End 08/14/2025 at 03:00

Our BONUS WEEK #4 is a HIGHLY TECHNICAL first leg. The Thursday Night Flight Club pilots will be departing Villahermosa International Airport (MMVA) at 0015z. They will be flying to Toncontin International Airport (MHTG). The approach selected will be the RNP North Approach for runway 02. This approach is notorious for being a difficult approach as pilots are task with making a circle-to-dog leg approach around the city center, high terrain all guided by visual cues on the ground. The final dog leg turn to the left provides little room for error as pilots must scan the ground for a gray five-story building before making their last turn line up with runway 02. Here are two videos showing the approach:

The second leg of the flight will be a departure from Toncontin (MHTG) after a refuel headed to Liberia International Airport (MRLB). Although the departure out of Toncontin is a a little tricky, the approach into Liberia is a standard approach.

NOTAM to PILOTS: IT IS IMPORTANT YOU DOWNLOAD THE FREE SCENERY FOR MHTG IN ORDER TO USE THE LANDMARKS OF THE GRAY BUILDING TO ALIGN FOR APPROACH. It can be downloaded here directly: https://flightsim.to/file/61134/mhtg-toncontin-intl-airport

If you are flying and using DISCORD and VATSIM, please make sure you have set-up your PTT bindings to you your calls are heard on the correct channel, not through your DISCORD, STREAMS, RADIOS, etc, If you have any questions concerning these settings, please connect with Chief Pilot Tony V. or Admin Craig S.

As a reminder, pilots are STRONGLY ENCOURAGED to check all weather and charts prior to departure. there are several free scenery files available. Please make sure everyone visits the pilot resources section of this website to download both liveries and VMR/CSL files to ensure a greater level of immersion for all pilots flying. As always, we will be flying on the VATSIM network and internal communication between pilots will be handled on the official Thursday Night Flight Club Public Discord Channel.

Pilots may fly any appropriate type of aircraft and livery desired. Please make certain one chooses an aircraft suited for the weekly mission. Custom liveries can be downloaded on both the official BRAVO 737 Community Discord and resources area.
